About
Art in the public trust of Riverbend County.
The Arts in Public Places Committee is a volunteer committee appointed by the Riverbend County Board of Commissioners. We select, acquire, and care for the art on display in county-owned buildings and outdoor spaces.
Every piece in the collection is chosen through an open Call for Art. Artists submit proposals, the committee reviews them, and selected pieces are commissioned or acquired with a small annual county allocation and private matching gifts.
Once in the collection, each work is inspected at least once a year. Condition notes, maintenance records, and location changes are kept in this system so the pieces can be cared for consistently across committee terms.
This site is the public face of that record. Every work has a stable page you can share — the placards on-site link directly to it.
